This Election Day, Know Your Voting Rights
Every registered voter in New Mexico has the right to:
- Be treated with respect by election officials
- Vote free from intimidation by election officials or any other person
- Vote in private
- Be assisted by a person of your choice if you are disabled OR need help reading or marking the ballot – you may not receive assistance from your employer or an agent of your employer, an officer or agent of your union, or a candidate on the ballot for this election
- Inspect a sample ballot before voting
- Ask for and receive instructions on how to operate the voting machine or mark a paper ballot
- Vote by emergency paper ballot if the voting machine is broken
- Ask for and receive and vote another paper ballot if your paper ballot is spoiled or defective
- Ask for and receive instructions on how to cast a provisional ballot if:
- your name is not on the list of eligible voters, OR
- you are required to provide identification and did not bring it to the polls
- Vote a provisional ballot if you registered by mail for the first time in this county and did not provide identification when you registered, AND you do not have identification with you today
- If you did not provide identification when you registered by mail for the first time in this county, you may vote on the voting machine today IF you provide:
- a current address in this county, AND
- a current and valid photo ID, utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and address
- Information regarding how to determine if your provisional vote was counted
- Cast a ballot if you are in line to vote when the polls close
- Election crimes that are subject to prosecution include: false voting, false swearing, double voting, bribery, coercion, intimidation, and obstructing or disturbing the polling place.

Este Día de Elección, Infórmese de sus Derechos Como Votante
Todo votante que está registrado en Nuevo Mexico tiene el derecho:
- De que los oficiales que tienen a su cargo la elección lo traten con respeto
- De lograr votar libremente sin intimidación por oficiales que tienen a su cargo la elección.
- De votar privadamente
- De que si Ud. está discapacitado/a o si necesita ayuda pueda elegir una persona que le ayude con el fin de que Ud. logre leer o marcar la balota C Ud. no podrá recibir ayuda de su empleador ni de apoderado de su empleador, ni de oficial o apoderado de sindicato obrero ni de candidato que conste en la balota de esta elección.
- De inspeccionar muestra de la balota antes de votar
- De solicitar y recibir instrucciones respecto a como operar la máquina registradora de votos o como marcar una papeleta para votar
- De votar mediante papeleta para votar está funcionando
- De solicitar y recibir y votar en otra papeleta para votar si su papeleta para votar se echó a perder o tiene defectos
- De solicitar y recibir instrucciones respecto a como emitir balota provisional si su nombre no consta en la lista de votantes que reúnen los requisitos O si a Ud. le exigen que presente identificación y no la trajo a las urnas
- De votar mediante balota provisional si Ud. se registró por correo por primera vez en este condado y no presentó identificación cuando se registró Y Ud. no trae identificación en su persona hoy
- Si Ud. no presentó identificación cuando se registró por correo por primera vez en este condado, Ud. podrá votar hoy en la máquina registradora de votos hoy SI Ud. presenta:
- una dirección de actualidad en este condado, Y
- una fotografía de identificación válida y de actualidad, cuenta de servicio público, balance de banco, cheque del gobierno, cheque para sueldo, u otro documento expedido por el gobierno que indica su nombre y dirección
- Información respecto a como determinar si contaron su voto provisional
- Información que Ud. emitió una balota si Ud. estaba haciendo cola para votar cuando cierran la urna
- Delitos electorales que están sujetos a acción judicial engloban: voto falseado, juramento falseado, votación doble, soborno, coacción, intimidación y obstrucción o alteración del lugar donde están las urnas.
